To celebrate Gilbert & George: The Tāmaki Makaurau Exhibition 2022, we are delighted to offer a unique performance art workshop at the Gallery. Discover a new way of seeing, thinking and feeling in this character development workshop, perhaps even finding your own form of ‘living sculpture’. Be bold, brave and embrace your imagination!

In this exciting and dynamic course, participants will develop characters and scenes through a series of games and exercises that encourage exploration of movement, rhythms and emotions.

This course is suitable for beginners as well as experienced actors.

Tutor: Terry Hooper
Terry is the education coordinator at The Auckland Performing Arts Centre (TAPAC). After training at Rose Bruford College in England, Terry worked for six years as a professional actor in London and Europe. He has also worked for Theatre in Education and has directed many productions here in Aotearoa New Zealand. Terry was a founder of The Minus One Theatre Company, Crossfade Theatre Company and The Acting Collective.
